JOURNEY TO PEACE 2019
Sought after by human kind since time immemorial, peace is the main pillar of Aman’s philosophy and the meaning of its Sanskrit-derived name. Dedicated to gently teaching you to find this elusive state within, this unique spiritual retreat will be led by internationally renowned Tibetan Bon Buddhist spiritual master and scholar, Geshe YongDong (Geshe La), at Aman’s four serene retreat centres in Indochina this October and November. Geshe La will share the ancient lessons of the Bon tradition at Amanoi, Amanpuri, Amansara and Amantaka – each a place of contemplation and connection – enabling you to find the serenity of heart, mind and spirit you seek.
A 6-NIGHT RETREAT INCLUDES:
Location/date
“There is suffering, these is a cause for suffering, there is an end of suffering, and there is a path of practice that relieves suffering”
Geshe YongDong
Under the intuitive and loving guidance of a spiritual master – ‘Geshe’ is the highest monastic degree in Buddhist philosophy – you will learn specific and practical skills enabling you to find peace in everyday life. Special techniques including breath control to calm the mind, Tsa Lung physical exercises to relax the body, mindfulness practice to heighten awareness of the present moment, and meditation to discover inner peace will be taught over the course of five days.
The retreat programme:
Born in Amdo, Tibet in 1969, Geshe YongDong knew from the age of 7 that he would pursue a spiritual path. He entered the Tibetan Nangzhig Bonpo Monastery at the age of 13, and after years of intensive study, meditation and debate, was awarded, at the age of 24, the Rajampa Geshe Degree, the highest degree in Tibetan monastic education. Travelling to Nepal and then to India, Geshe La met and was taught by both His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin Rinpoche, then World Leader of the Bon Buddhist lineage.
Today, with his gentle approach, generous sense of humour and compassionate heart, Geshe La presents his spiritual teachings from his three centres in Canada, Colombia and Costa Rica, and through a variety of videos and written material including his popular book “Calm Breath, Calm Mind”. Vice President of the International Non-Sectarian Tibetan Buddhist Organisation, his busy international teaching schedule takes him all over the world.
